Regular monitoring of diabetes is vital to preventing long-term complications of the disease such as heart problems, blindness, kidney failure and nerve disorders.
Our senior practice nurse is qualified in managing diabetics and will invite all diabetics for review every six months. You will usually be offered: Blood Tests to monitor you blood glucose, cholesterol, liver and kidneys. Urine Test another kidney check (so please bring a sample with you). Blood Pressure Check. Nerve Check to look for nerve damage. Medication Review. Advice and support as required. Eye Tests occur annually off the premises.
If you are diabetic and have not received an invitation for and appointment or missed one for some reason please contact reception and ask for an appointment.
