If you have any sort of investigation - usually blood test or xray - arranged by the surgery it is very important you call the surgery for the result. Most blood test results are available 2 days after they are taken, although more specialised ones take up to 2 weeks. Xray results, urine and stool samples take up to a week. Please ensure you call after 2pm to ensure your doctor has had time to review the results.
The receptionist will be able to tell you if the test was normal, or if it was abnormal and you need to see the doctor or nurse.
